The Botanical Gardens in Asheville is always a good bet as a location for family photos.

It is super close to downtown but it has some beautiful nature right there. I especially like the water that flows through it. It's just really pretty and you don't feel like you are in Downtown Asheville.

You can usually find a bit of privacy there for a photo shoot.  It's also nice that there are some spacious parts so there is room to spread out if you have a large, extended family session or room to run and play if you have a fun and playful family like this one.
