Courthouse Elopement with Nature Couples Portraits | Asheville Wedding Photographer

It's kind of crazy walking through the Buncombe County Courthouse now that they have added that super modern addition to it. You enter in and everything is new and really bright. If you are getting married though, you keep walking through the hallways and you end up in the gorgeous historical part of the original courthouse building. Kind of trippy with the stark contrast I may add. Maybe there is something poetic about the wedding journey in there.

Us Ashevillians are pretty lucky to have such a cool building especially for elopements. According to https://www.exploreasheville.com/architecture-trail/buncombe-county-courthouse/ the original Buncombe County Courthouse, considered Neo-Classical was built in 1928 and at the time was the tallest building in the state. It really is beautiful and well maintained.

Well, sweet Dylan and Sarah got married there and it was stunning.

After the ceremony, we went to the cabin they were renting to do our couples portraits. They chose a place that had a fairytale feel in the nature that surrounded it. River North was an amazing place to do their photos.

Dylan & Sarah were really fun to work with too. It turned out that they were competitive ballroom dancers and I really enjoyed photographing their moves too.
