Oh it turned out to be such a beautiful wedding! It was certainly not the original plan but it worked out for the best.

Their original wedding plans were for September 30th (just a few days after Hurricane Helene) at Fork Ridge Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Power was out and cell service was spotty as we tried to communicate about the wedding.

When they first emailed me to check in, there was a huge tree laying on my car and my home was flooded and destroyed. No one could contact the officiant. We were still hoping to follow through with our plans somehow.  So many people had no cell service at all during that time. Many roads were closed. It turned out that the Blue Ridge Parkway was closed at that time throughout the entire state of NC.

They decided to change the date and the location for their wedding. Their ceremony was held during sunset time at the gorgeous Inspiration Point at Lake Junaluska a couple months later. A few close family members attended and it was very sweet.
