Surprise Proposal at The Biltmore Estate | Asheville Photographer

It turned out to be such a beautiful evening that day at The Biltmore Estate. While I was awaiting Derek and Sydney's arrival at our surprise proposal location the wind picked up a bit and there was a crisp feeling in the air. Derek chose a very nice time of day to schedule this. It was in the 90 minutes before sunset range when the light is nice and soft.

These two had a really nice time at the Biltmore that day and Derek asked Sydney to walk back to this spot, telling her he wanted to take a selfie there because he really liked it there. They walked right past me as I was turned to photograph the gorgeous mountain landscape that was in the other direction.

I turned to watch them arrive at the spot. Derek had a some things to tell Sydney and then he found the ring he had hiding in his sock and dropped to one knee and popped the question. Sydney was so shocked! She said YES!!! How exciting! They were sooooo happy!

I wish Derek and Sydney all the best in their future together.
