Jack chose a beautiful December evening for this surprise.

I hiked a bit behind them as they climbed to the top and could tell it was going to be stunning when we got up there.

They arrived at the top and Jack found a nice place to stop.

You know, I don't know why they make these engagement ring boxes so big. These poor guys are always trying to play it cool to surprise their ladies and also hide a HUGE ring box at the same time. It's nerve racking for them! Jack hiked all the way up here with that giant box in his sock!

....and Emily had no idea.

In fact, when he kneeled down to pop the question Emily was utterly shocked! She had the best, most expressive reaction. It was awesome!
