Black Mountain Family Photography at Vacation Home

One thing I enjoy about what I do for a living is that I get to travel around and meet my clients in all different places.

For really large groups, I always offer the place where everyone is staying as a possible location for photography since it can be difficult to wrangle large family groups to get everyone to go someplace else. This evening, I followed my GPS to an address of the AirBNB that this family was staying in. I was happy to be going to another Black Mountain location since I live on the east side, it's just nice to not go too far sometimes.

I arrived right on time to the address my GPS had led me to. Suddenly my inner dialogue was completely full of expletives!

While finishing parking my car, I said to myself, "Oh no!!! This has to be the wrong address! No! I was just here at this same house two weeks ago! AHHHHH! No! I must have put that other family's AirBnb address in my notes twice but this time for the wrong family! NO! Oh man! I don't have time to drive to a different house and still be on time. Sugar!! Honey!! Iced!!! Tea!!!" (only much more colorfully)

My anxiety dissipated as the family came out to greet me. It turns out that they had rented out the same AirBnb in Black Mountain and I would be doing this family's portrait session at the same location I was in 2 weeks prior. For a minute, I thought I was losing it. What a huge relief!

Once I realized I was in the correct location, I thought it was all pretty funny.

The two families were pretty different from each other and even though both family photo shoots were done in the same location, each certainly carried its unique personalities.
