There are so many reasons I loved photographing this beautiful elopement! Let me count the ways....

First off, this was the first time I had the opportunity to photograph an Indian Wedding! I spent a few months in India a few winters ago and I got a bit of a taste of what an Indian wedding entails. There was one happening next door to one of the places where I was staying and you could see some of it from the balcony and you could hear it all through town for several days. In India, they really do it up and are very very celebratory when it comes to weddings. They know how to party to say it simply, and add lots of color, music, and excitement....and stamina!

This wedding was a micro version of an Indian wedding. It was much tinier all around. It was a fusion with what you sort of see in a lot of my favorite elopement style weddings. There were only a handful of good friends there. The shorter, quieter version was still really fun and made special with a few select touches.

Also, you can thank today's technology for allowing Sanika & Harishikesh to be able to broadcast the whole ceremony to a ton of family members in India. It was important to them to keep the wedding on the small side AND also not exclude anyone.

I also absolutely loved the breathtaking mountain location they chose for their elopement wedding venue. What an amazing spot! India is a huge country and I hope to go back and explore more of it someday. I got to see a bunch of places in the South before spending a month for yoga teacher training up North in Rishikesh which is in the mountains and it looks a lot like this. I felt like I was somewhere in the outskirts of Rishikesh at this location only without having to dodge the monkeys.

I also loved this wedding because of the people! The bride, groom and friends were just so sweet and fun.
