It was a Thursday afternoon in early October when they came to Asheville for their elopement and to spend a romantic weekend together.

They wanted the wedding to be small and to be just the two of them. The focus was on their bond and not on a huge crowd to please. Simplicity worked beautifully in this case.

They were officially married in town and met me at a spot in the mountains afterward for our portrait session.

When we met up at the spot, the rain cloud had also landed there. We had all noticed that on the drive, there were a few places that appeared to be more clear. We decided to back track and do our wedding photo session at an overlook on The Blue Ridge Parkway instead.

I'm really glad we did that. It was a beautiful spot and the clouds were doing that thing they do after a rain. It's that Care Bear thing. I love it.

It was fun that we could be spontaneous that day. It was super sweet to hang out with Maddy and Adam. They have a lot of fun with each other, and I had a lot of fun being a part of that.
